Established in August 2017, Jalsa is a family-run restaurant in the heart of Conwy, just moments from the historic Conwy Castle. Although we may be one of the smaller restaurants in town with just 20 covers, we believe that great food and genuine hospitality have never been measured by size.

Our story begins long before Jalsa opened its doors. The recipes and flavours that define our menu were developed by our founder, whose career in the restaurant industry began in the 1990s. His journey took him from London to Scotland, through Yorkshire and eventually to North Wales, refining his craft and drawing inspiration from every kitchen he worked in. It was here that he fulfilled his ambition of opening his own restaurant, creating what is now known as Jalsa.

As the next generation, we’ve built on those foundations while bringing Jalsa into a more modern era, staying true to our family’s traditions while continually improving the experience for our guests.

Our cooking reflects our Bradford roots, with recipes, spice blends and sauces that have been passed down through our family and remain our closely guarded secret. Every dish is freshly prepared to order using these signature blends, ensuring every meal is served exactly as intended. Our open kitchen is central to that philosophy, allowing guests to watch their food being prepared from start to finish, reflecting the confidence we have in every dish that leaves our kitchen.

Those reviews are more than just ratings—they represent the trust our customers place in us and the dedication our family brings to the restaurant every single day.

From humble beginnings as a single family-run restaurant in Conwy, Jalsa has continued to grow while remaining true to the values it was founded on. That journey has led to the opening of our second location in Anglesey, allowing us to share our family’s cooking with even more communities across North Wales. Despite our growth, we remain proudly independent, family-run and committed to preparing every dish with the same care, passion and attention to detail that have defined Jalsa since 2017.
